The Ouachita Mountains Resources Conservation and Development (RC&D) Council proudly announces the upcoming Four-State Forestry on the Grow Conference, scheduled for April 24th-27th, at the new Texarkana Convention Center in Texarkana, TX.  The event will be one of the most in-depth forestry conferences of the year.  The forestry presentation and networking opportunities will benefit landowners, investors and professionals with timberland holdings from Texas to the Carolinas.

Last year, we had 210 attendees representing timberland investments on 3.8 million acres.  The conference is sponsored by a consortium of private, industry and government agencies in four states (Texas, Arkansas, Oklahoma and Louisiana).  The conference organizers do not profit from the event and host solely for the educational, promotional and networking opportunity for all attendees, presenters, agencies and industry.

Our featured speaker this year is Discovery Channel’s American Logger, Eldon Pelletier.  There will be 16 speakers from several different states presenting in dual concurring sessions on a wide variety of forestry management related topics, with sponsors introducing each speaker.  Topics for this year’s conference include Past, Present, and Future Forest Trends, Tree Farm Safety, Certification Impacts on Tree Value, Timber Taxation and 1031 Exchanges, Choosing the Right Seedling for the Right Soil, Planted Pine Yields and Returns, Using Google Earth in Land Management and many more.  The conference will be highlighting the region’s timber and forestry issues within the four-state area (OK, AR, TX, and LA).  The conference will also include a free two-day Pro-Logger/ Master Logger certification course scheduled for April 24th – 25th.  Four (4) different mill and field tours are also scheduled for Thursday, April 25th.
